There's been a lot of publicity over the past 24 hours that Sports Illustrated put 81 year old Martha Stewart on the cover of the famous Swimsuit Edition. Stewart is one of four cover models that will be featured on different editions of this year's issue. What's not being promoted is that SI has put Transgender singer Kim Petras on one of the other covers.
Petras gained international attention in the early 2000's for undergoing transition surgery at 16, at the time claiming to be the "worlds youngest transexual". Now 30, the German born Petras is world-famous singer who collaborated with Sam Smith (who doesn't identify as a man or a woman) on the hit song "Unholy". This was the piece of trash song that Smith famoulsy performed at the Grammy's skimply dressed as the devil.
This is not the first time SI has put a biological male on the cover of the Swimsuit edition. In 2021, transgender Leyna Bloom was "celebrated" as the first trans woman of color to grace the cover.
How long are we going to put up with this nonsense. It's time we gave Sports Illustrated the Bud Light treatment.
