A Mexican national is in police custody after trying to get loans with forged deeds at the Maricopa County Recorder's Office.
The Arizona Attorney General's Office says 61-year-old Jose Yanez used the forged documents to obtain several properties, and then tried to use those properties to get a one-million-dollar cash loan.
Yanez was arrested last week after signing loan documents in front of an undercover special agent.
The suspect is from Sonora, Mexico and is charged with fraudulent scheming, forgery and money laundering.
