The Phoenix Suns are taking University of Arizona big man Deandre Ayton with the first pick in the NBA Draft. As expected, the seven foot center from U of A was chosen first overall by the Suns. Ayton played two years of high school hoops in Phoenix at Hillcrest Prep before heading to Tucson to play one season at Arizona. This was the first time in franchise history the Suns picked first in the NBA draft.
