(Phoenix, AZ) -- Phoenix police say a man charged with murdering his wife did it so she wouldn't be a burden on the family. Police responded to a call at a home near 16th Street and Union Hills Drive Monday morning, where Jonathan Conaway told them he killed his wife. According to court documents, Conaway believed his wife had become a burden since suffering a stroke and killed her so their children wouldn't have to take care of her. He told police he'd lost his job two weeks ago, adding to the family's financial hardship.
