A motorcycle helmet law is making its way through the Arizona legislature. Democratic lawmakers at the state Capitol are introducing a new bill that would mandate motorcycle riders wear a helmet or pay a fee to be exempted from the law. The fee to sidestep the law would be paid during motorcycle registration.
Those caught without a helmet and without the exemption could face a five hundred dollar fine. The money collect from fines and fees would fund the highway user revenue fund and the Spinal and Head Injuries Trust Fund.
