President Biden and the Democrats are celebrating the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm pointed out all the savings you get in the form of tax credits you're going to have to buy windows, appliances, a heat pump, solar panels, an electric car, and a charging station.
Windows could set you back about $15k. So could solar. A more efficient heat pump costs about $6,000. New appliances will run upwards of $5k. The average price of a brand new electric vehicle is $66,000 and a charging station will set you back another $2k. In total, Granholm says go out and spend $106,000 in order to do your part to save the planet.
Democrats also say the Inflation Reduction Act is only the first step in dealing with climate change.
