William “Wick” Pilcher is a fourth-generation Arizonan, having lived in Phoenix all his life. He and his wife, Jill, have three children, Patrick, Preston, and Leslie, and three grandchildren, Isaiah, Rowan, and Olivia. Mr. Pilcher is an avid golfer, tennis player, enthusiastic outdoorsman and lover of nature. Wick has travelled extensively throughout Arizona and North America, engaging in sustainable fishing, and hunting practices.
Mr. Pilcher is a long-time arts aficionado, music, dance, literature, and fine art - collecting antiques and American Indian Art – paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and pottery. Wick has been affiliated with the Heard Museum (dedicated to Native American history, culture, and arts) since the 1980’s, having been introduced to the organization through close friends and family - serving on the Board of Director’s, Chairman and now Board Emeritus. Finally, Wick is a long-time friend and supporter of Ballet Arizona, serving central Arizona, as well as more recently the Ballet Theatre of Phoenix.
After graduating from ASU in 1978, Wick joined his father’s insurance business, Olliver/Pilcher, the company later becoming Corroon & Black and then Willis of Arizona. In June l992, Mr. Pilcher resigned his position as Chairman/CEO of the Arizona operation to found Wick Pilcher Insurance. Mr. Pilcher sold his business to USI Insurance Services in 2012, retaining his position of CEO – Arizona. USI is a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm with more than 250+ local offices across the U.S. and a leading market position in all core businesses. Through USI’s philosophy of community involvement, Wick has been able to garner the financial and societal influence to continue to strengthen his support for the Phoenix community.
Mr. Pilcher has been a member of the Paradise Valley Country Club since 1977 and is active in the Phoenix community with membership on many Boards such as Paradise Valley Country Club, Barrow Neurological Foundation, BBVACompass Bank, Brophy College Preparatory, Arizona Commerce Authority, Young Presidents' Organization, Phoenix Symphony, Men’s Anti-Violence Network, St. Joseph’s Hospital and The Heard Museum. He is also a member of Wine and Food Society of Phoenix and Commanderie De Bordeaux. Finally, Wick’s love for the Valley of the Sun can easily be evidenced through his many community contributions, creating significant and social relationships resulting in interactions with all walks of life.
