No PHX PD Investigation for now...

The Phoenix City Council tabled a proposed taxpayer funded investigation into the police department's response to protests outside the Phoenix Convention Center last week.  The protests happened after President Donald Trump's rally last week.  The police used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the crowds after bottles and projectiles were thrown at officers.

Some of those same protesters showed up at the city council meeting Wednesday.  Some complained the Phoenix police shot them with rubber bullets and tear gas even though they were peacefully gathered downtown.

Mayor Greg Stanton allowed them to be heard, causing the meeting to last five hours.  While, many protesters are calling for in independent investigation, a few protesters took issue the California based firm mentioned to conduct this investigation, OIR Group, because Phoenix police chief Jerri Williams has used the same firm in the past while she was the police chief in Oxnard, California.
