A family wants a face to face apology from a Buckeye police officer after an autistic boy was arrested.
Body cam footage shows the 14-year-old wondering around a park alone when he's approached by the officer. The boy was reportedly "Skimming," which is a coping mechanism used by kids with autism that calms them down and usually consists of ticks or twitches.
The officer tries putting the teen in handcuffs and the boy freaks out. The Buckeye P.D. is standing by the officer but the family has a list of demands. They want the apology, and they want the officer to do some community service in the autism community and they want every Buckeye cop to get autism training.
The city says the demands are under review.
