Arizona does not have to reveal the sources of execution drugs. The Arizona Capitol Times reports U.S. District Court Judge Murray Snow issued that ruling Thursday in response to a lawsuit filed against the State in 2014.
The suit was brought by multiple news outlets following what some called the botched execution of Joseph Wood which required 15 doses of a sedative and painkiller over nearly two hours. Plaintiffs were seeking the identity of the companies that supply the drugs for executions.
Snow, referring to a 9th Circuit Court opinion, ruled the public is not guaranteed the right to information related to executions.
