The Phoenix Police Department has detained two people accused of faking the disappearance of their 19-year-old daughter and grandson.
Cassie and Roland Jones were arrested at Sky Harbor Wednesday as they were waiting to board a plane. Mesa Police believe the couple, along with their daughter, hatched the plan so their daughter could avoid sharing custody of her one-year-old son with the boy's father after a court ordered joint custody.
Their daughter, 19-year-old Madeline Jones, is also facing criminal charges but so far police have been unable to find her or her son. She has been missing or hiding since June.
