Mom Upset Over Civil War School Project

A Scottsdale mom is furious over a school project about the Civil War.  The project handed to the seventh grader at Desert Shadows Middle School requires students to create a lifelike weapon that looks like it's from the Civil War-era.

The kids were handed diagrams and pictures along with a set of rules, which includes all weapons must be made of wood.  The mother says her daughter participated in the project about eight years ago but now times have changed.

The mom says schools shouldn't promote violence and lawmakers are being irresponsible by letting the project move forward.
