(KFYI News) – Police still have a lot of unanswered questions about the disappearance of a Glendale kindergarten teacher who's been missing since Friday.
Cathryn Gorospe, 44, drove to Flagstaff on Friday to bail a friend out of jail. She hasn't been seen since.
However, that friend, 28-year-old Charlin Malzahn, tried to use Gorospe's credit cards in Tucson on Saturday.
Then early Monday morning, police spotted Gorospe's white Toyota RAV 4 SUV in west Phoenix. Malzahn was behind the wheel. A short chase ensued, which ended when Malzahn crashed the vehicle. However, it already had body damage and parts of a bumper were missing.
Phoenix police say during the booking process at their headquarters, Malzahn assaulted two officers and tried to escape. However, he has not said much to detectives, and has not told them where Gorospe is.
Investigators say it appears Malzahn drove Gorospe's RAV 4 all over Arizona, putting hundreds of miles on it, so there's no way to know where to look for her. There was blood found in the vehicle.
Detectives are also eager to find any of the missing parts of the SUV's bumper, to help narrow the search for her whereabouts.
