Arizonans Will Pay Less Tax In 2018

Arizona taxpayers will pay a little less next year. It sounds good on paper but it doesn't translate all that well to your pocket.  House Speaker J.D. Mesnard led the charge for a new law that boosts the standard exemption on state tax forms.  For couples that's an increase of $100 or for an individual it's $50.  But the exemption is related to a taxpayer's adjusted income and in reality a $100 exemption translates to less than $5 or that morning latte.  Mesnard tells the Arizona Capitol Times the savings are small but meaningful.
