Senate candidate Kelli Ward of Arizona says she is glad Senator Jeff Flake's announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2018 has "paved the way for a true conservative" to come to Washington.
The GOP Republican primary contender appeared on MSNBC today, where she condemned Flake for resisting President Trump's "America First" agenda. The American Conservative Union reports that Flake has voted with President Trump more than 90 percent of the time, but Ward said she could do better.
Ward said if she wins Flake's Senate seat next year, she will not be a "rubber stamp" for the executive branch, even though she believes President Trump is an "amazing leader" who put America "back where it belongs" on the world stage.
