Details about the sordid past of a professor at Arizona State University are coming out. Professor Jaime Lara is a renowned professor of medieval art history but forced to resign late last week.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn announced Lara had sexually abused minors decades ago while he was a priest on the East Coast.
The "Arizona Republic" says after ASU officials learned of the news, they immediately asked him to step down and it was effective the same day.
Lara was ordained in 1973 and was in active ministry until 1992 when he was stripped of his cloth for his actions.
