Parvo Cases In Valley On The Rise

A Valley veterinarian says she and other animal doctors are seeing more and more parvovirus cases in dogs.

Parvo is an extremely contagious disease that kills half the dogs it infects.  Dr. Amber Naig with Laveen Veterinary Center tells "AZ Family" the uptick could be the start of one of the worst parvo seasons she's seen.

Parvo is transmitted through animal waste but can also be picked up at dog parks.  Naig says the best way to keep your dog safe is to stay up to date on shots.
