The Phoenix Police Department is being sued over the President Trump protest. The American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona has filed a lawsuit over "the agency’s refusal to release public records concerning the large, peaceful protest of President Trump’s rally in August.” Phoenix Police dispersed the crowd with tear gas, flash bangs and pepper balls after they say demonstrators threw bottles, rocks and tear gas at them outside the Phoenix Convention Center following the President's August Rally. The ACLU accuses the Phoenix Police Department of failing to protect the First Amendment rights of demonstrators. The organization says it has requested public documents twice from but did not receive them. The ACLU is now suing to demand the records documenting the department's actions be released to the public.
