(Phoenix, AZ) -- A Phoenix wedding shop that refuses to make invitations for same sex marriages is appealing a decision against them. The owners of Brush and Nib studio, Joanna Duka and Breanna Koski, had sued the city of Phoenix over the part of the city's nondiscrimination ordinance that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation. A Maricopa County judge upheld that prohibition. Now Scottsdale-based Alliance Defending Freedom has filed an appeal on behalf of Duka and Koski. The conservative group also represented Hobby Lobby in its successful religious freedom case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
