Wearing a mask to a public event may land you behind bars.
'Republican Representative Jay Lawrence from Scottsdale wants it to be illegal for people to wear anything at any public event that conceals their identity.
Lawrence says he got the idea for his bill after watching masked, hooded people breaking windows, hitting people and fighting with police this past summer.
A lawyer for the ACLU tells the "AZ Capitol Times" the proposed bill isn't about keeping people safe, its about squashing first amendment rights.
