ASU Hires Herm Edwards As New Head Coach

Arizona State University has found its new football coach.  ASU has officially announced the hiring of Herm Edwards and will hold a Monday press conference to introduce him.

The 63-year-old Edwards is a former NFL head coach with the Chiefs and Jets.  In eight seasons, he was 54-and-74 with a 2-and-4 playoff record.  He last coached on the collegiate level in 1989 as a secondary coach at San Jose State, and has not coached at all since being fired by Kansas City after the 2008 season.

Since 2009, he has worked as an NFL analyst at ESPN.  Edwards replaces Todd Graham, who was fired after six years at ASU.
