Former detective Germayne Cunningham and his wife Lisa each face 10 counts of felony child abuse and one count of first degree murder in the death of their 7 year old daughter back in February.
A GoFundMe page set up for the child, which raised 8-thousand dollars, states she suffered mental health issues.
Goodyear Police believe Sanaa was abused since at least July of last year. Documents say she was forced to stay outside, or confined to the patio and garage and was restrained with zip ties.
Cunningham was a 12 year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department where he served as a detective in the Property Management Bureau. He resigned in September.
