The Arizona Department of Agriculture is doing it's part to combat the opioid crisis in the state. Nine livestock officers with the department will start carrying Narcan on the job this week.
The medication is used to block the effects of opioids, especially when someone has overdosed.
Governor Doug Ducey declared opioid deaths and overdoses a statewide health emergency earlier this year and state health officials say the opioid crisis is everywhere.
Since June there have been 14-hundred overdoses in Arizona and 600 people have died.
