Today marks the 7th anniversary of the Tucson, Arizona mass shooting.
The shooting on January 8th, 2011 left six people dead and 13 others wounded, including former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
A memorial to the victims and first responders is being dedicated as construction for the project gets underway.
Giffords will be among the speakers at today's dedication ceremony as well as Ron Barber, a former congressman who survived the massacre.
