Former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is ramping up his claim that former President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S.
Arpaio announced Tuesday he's running for Arizona's Republican U.S.Senate nomination.
He said in an interview on CNN last night he has evidence that Obama's Hawaii birth certificate is fake.
President Trump pardoned Arpaio last year before the controversial ex-lawman could be sentenced for a criminal contempt conviction.
Trump had long fueled and funded the so-called birther movement questioning Obama's citizenship, but last year Trump said he accepts that Obama was born in the U.S.
