Arizona doesn't have the worst freeways, but it's pretty close. The group Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety recently put out their list ranking the best and worst states when it comes to highway safety.
The group has ranked the state at just above the worst, saying there only a handful of laws protecting drivers.
The reports also says in 2016 nearly a thousand people died in crashes on Arizona roadways, which had an economic impact of about four billion dollars.
