(Phoenix, AZ) Governor Doug Ducey signs newly passed legislation to fight Arizona's opioid crisis. The governor signed the bill this morning in a ceremony at the state capitol, surrounded by lawmakers from both parties who helped craft the bipartisan legislation. Senate Bill 1001 limits a first opioid prescription to five days, but does not try to curtail existing, long-term prescriptions. It also expands access to opioid overdose antidotes, and provides 10 million dollars for treatment for those with little or no insurance.
