Closures on Interstate 10 will impact drivers this weekend. Crews are continuing work for the new South Mountain Freeway and westbound I-10 will be closed between 43rd Avenue and 59th Avenue. The new 22-mile stretch of highway will eventually connect the East and West Valley without the need to go through downtown Phoenix. The Arizona Department of Transportation says there will also be multiple ramp closures throughout project.
