Lawmakers To Take Up "Blow Dry" Bill

Lawmakers are set to begin considering lighter regulations for the beauty industry today.  A hearing is scheduled for House Bill 2011, which would not require a state license for hair stylists who only blow-dry hair, but don't do any cutting, curling, or coloring.

Stylists and cosmetology school operators oppose the bill.  They tell "The Arizona Republic" the bill's a bad idea because training and licensing protects Arizonans from diseases that can be spread by people who aren't properly trained.
