New House Rules Missing Anti-Harassment Policy

The Arizona House of Representatives is amending its rules, but one major issue is missing. Despite the recent investigation into sexual harassment, Speaker J.D. Mesnard did not include a formal anti-harassment policy in the new rules.  He says there are unanswered questions about where in the rule book the anti-harassment policy would best fit. Mesnard says the House needs to determine whether the policy belongs under the speaker's power or the members' authority to make amendments.  House Majority Kelly Townsend wants to lawmakers to have the power to weigh in.
