Arpaio Says He Only Wants To Serve One Senate Term

Joe Arpaio is telling voters in Tucson he only wants to serve one term in the Senate.  Arpaio spoke with members of the Saddlebrook Republican Club yesterday, saying he would only serve one term if elected to the Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jeff Flake.

So far, Arpaio faces former state Senator Dr. Kelli Ward and Tucson Congresswoman Martha McSally in the August Republican primary.

In 1992, during Joe Arpaio's first campaign for sheriff, he promised to serve only one term.  The 85-year-old went on to serve six terms as Maricopa County's sheriff over a span of 24-years
