A bill seeking to license dental therapists in Arizona is in the hands of the Senate Education Committee after clearing the Health and Human Services Committee earlier this week.
The "Arizona Capitol Times" says the bill would allow a person to be trained and licensed by the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners to perform simple dental procedures, including tooth extractions and regular evaluations.
It's supported by the Indigenous People's and Latino Caucuses but opposed by the Arizona Dental Association. So far, no hearing date has been set.
