Some high-powered police weapons are in the wrongs hands. Thieves busted into a few Phoenix police cruisers recently and made off with a pretty good cache of weapons including an AR-15 rifle.
Some of the other items stolen are two large canisters of pepper spray, a Glock handgun, a police expandable baton, a pocket knife and a Taser.
The cruisers were broken into on several nights at several stations starting late last month. Officials say an internal investigation is underway, and it's still unclear if any offer's may have broken protocol.
