District Considers Teacher Pay Cuts

Teachers at Murphy School District in Phoenix may be seeing pay cuts.  The district is facing a potential state takeover if it doesn't figure out its financial crisis.

A proposal announced Friday afternoon would mean a five-percent wage cut for teachers.  Dozens of teachers and parents protested around the school Monday morning.

The problem started when the district overspent its 2017-18 operating budget by more than two-million-dollars.
