A San Diego Padres relief pitcher won't be joining the team for spring training. The "Union-Tribune" reports that Jose Torres has been placed on Major League Baseball's restricted list as he faces domestic violence charges in Arizona.
The 24-year-old was arrested in December after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman during an argument in their Phoenix apartment.
The team didn't comment on the charges, but thought it best that he not be at spring training.
