McCain's Immigration Measure Falls In Senate

The U.S. Senate is rejecting a bipartisan immigration bill sponsored by Arizona Republican Senator John McCain and Delaware Democratic Senator Christopher Coons.

The bill needed 60 votes and fell short with a 52-47 vote yesterday.  The bill would have provided a path to citizenship for more than one-point-eight-million immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

The bill was expected to fail as it did not include President Trump's demand for 25-billion-dollars for a border wall.

McCain, who is undergoing treatment for brain cancer, missed the vote.
