Lawmakers at the State Capital are moving along a measure that would create a new industry in Arizona.
Senate Bill 1098 would legalize an industrial hemp industry the state. The bill also provides funding to the Arizona Department of Agriculture to issue licenses and maintain records.
The bill's sponsor, Republican Sonny Borrelli, said in a statement, this is rope, not dope.
The bill moves over the Arizona House.
