(Peoria, AZ) -- A couple of accused shoplifters are behind bars after running directly into a police station in Peoria. Police got a call about a man and a woman that might have been shoplifting and spotted their getaway car at a gas station on Friday. When officers approached, the two ran towards a building with a sign that reads Peoria Police in giant letters above the door. The couple jumped a fence into a secure area of the police station where several officers happened to be training. Police officials say the incident should serve as a reminder never to run form the cops.
