Border Agent Goes On Trail For 2nd Degree Murder

The second-degree murder trial for U.S. Border Agent Lonnie Swartz gets underway.

In the fall of 2012, police say Swartz opened fire through the metal fence along the border.  A 16-year-old Mexican boy was killed after getting shot 10 times.

Defense attorneys say the boy was throwing rocks to create a distraction for a drug smuggler.

The trial is expected to last more than a month.
