Tucson may be joining the lawsuit to stop the Trump Administration's plan to ask people about their citizenship in the 2020 census. It's been over 60-years since citizenship data was collected during the count.
Opponents of the move say it will lead to a loss of congressional representation and federal dollars for local communities.
The Justice Department said in a statement that it looks forward to defending the reinstatement of the citizenship question, to protect the right to vote and ensure free and fair elections.
