Ducey Rejects Teacher's Pay Demands

Arizona teachers may be on the brink of a strike.  The educators are demanding a 20-percent pay increase, but Governor Doug Ducey said Thursday -- it's not happening.

The pay hike would cost the state about 680-million-dollars and Republican lawmakers say with five-and-a-half-billion in state dollars now going into public schools, the state simply can't cut a check that big.

Ducey says teacher pay is high on his to-do list and he's doing the best he can, but the state is heading in the right direction.
