Arizona Governor Doug Ducey claims on twitter that a deal has been reached end the teacher walkout, which entered its second day on Friday.
The Governor’s tweet claims that teachers will receive a 20% pay increase by 2020. He also claims support staff will receive an extra $100 million, and will increase to $371 million over the next five years.
The tweets claim that the deal calls for no additional increase in taxes. Governor Ducey followed his original tweet with another stating that they are ready to work through the weekend to introduce a budget early next week and pass it shortly thereafter.
