The Peoria Police Department is rolling out a new system to help saves lives. The system is called Smart911 and the city is the first to add the program in the West Valley. Smart911 is a database of personal information created by users, that officials use while in route to an emergency. People can give a phone number, home address and even a gate code. When a person then calls 911, their information pops up on a screen for the dispatcher. The Tempe PD was the first in the state to use the system back in 2014.
