Senate Candidate May Be Kicked Off Ballot

Mark Syms

(Phoenix, AZ)  --  An independent state Senate candidate may get kicked off the ballot.  Mark Syms is facing a lawsuit that alleges some of the signatures on the petitions to get his name on the November ballot are forgeries.  Syms is running for Legislative District 28, which covers areas of North Phoenix, Arcadia and Paradise Valley.  He turned in two thousand signatures, but Robert McGee, the husband of state Senator Kate McGee, and the guy behind the lawsuit says over 900 of the signatures are phonies and Syms doesn't have enough to be on the ballot.
