Scottsdale Faces $9 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The family of a toddler killed at a Scottsdale fire station is suing the city.  Joey Reiss, whose uncle is a firefighter at the station, died after being crushed by an accordion-style door as the family visited last February.  The Reisses are seeking $9 million for the wrongful death of their only child and emotional distress.  An investigation found no criminal wrongdoing and ruled the death an accident.  The city expresses its sympathy but denies some claims in the lawsuit and plans to vigorously defend against it.
