(Undated) -- Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is defending Alex Jones after the conspiracy theorist was dropped from several online media platforms in the past week. Apple, Facebook, YouTube and Spotify banned the Infowars founder for violating their policies about hate speech. Arpaio, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Arizona, has directed his campaign to look into buying advertising on Infowars to help Jones out in what the campaign calls a fight for free speech. Often referred to as America's toughest sheriff, Arpaio is no stranger to conspiracies himself, after spending years promoting the idea that former President Obama may have been born in Kenya. Jones has, among other things, said that the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax and that Satanists are taking over America.
