There's a push online to paint a mural honoring Senator John McCain in Scottsdale. A local artist, an architect and a developer have started a Kickstarter campaign in hope of painting what they are calling the Maverick Mural.
They plan to paint the massive mural in Old Town and from a distance it will look like an image of McCain in front of the state flag. When you look closer, you will see thousands of smaller images representing the state that make up the larger image.
So far the team has raised about half of their 20-thousand-dollar goal.
