Mesa Police Chief Backs Out Of Town Hall

The top cop in Mesa is catching heat for pulling a no show at a town meeting.  The meeting was scheduled for last night and it was to be a forum for people to ask questions about use-of-force incidents involving the Mesa PD.

Hours before the meeting, Mesa Police Chief Ramon Batista and Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery backed out.

The FBI is investigating the department for possible civil rights violations after two recent excessive force cases.
