Voters Urged To Cast Ballots Early

(Phoenix, AZ)  --  Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes is optimistic the November 6th election will run smoothly.  Fontes told the County Board of Supervisors that hundreds of thousands of Arizonans have already cast their ballots. Problems at the polls in last August's primary election led to dozens of polling places opening late and some voters being turned away.  Fontes blamed a lot of those problems on an outside contractor who didn't supply enough personnel to set up the polling places.  He said those problems have been addressed.  Fontes is urging people to vote early to avoid long lines on election day.  All 40 vote centers will be open in the county starting Wednesday, October 31st.
