(Phoenix, AZ) Southwest Key has surrendered its license for two Arizona facilities housing migrant children detained at the border. As part of an agreement with the Arizona Department of Health Services, Southwest Key will also pay a $73,000 fine, hire a third party healthcare consultant, and stop accepting migrant children at its other Arizona locations. The facilities closing are Casa Phoenix near 7th Avenue and Buckeye Road and Hacienda Del Sol in Youngtown. Some staff members at the Youngtown facility were fired after an abuse incident last month involving three children. Southwest Key's six other Arizona locations will continue operations.
